To keep things fair we have a couple of rules at The Great Pumpkin Carnival. One set is the GPC (great pumpkin commonwealth) rules we follow for weighing any giant pumpkin on the day, the other is for the pumpkin racers.
GPC Weigh Off Rules
The full rule book can be viewed here. The main thing we look for is to make sure the pumpkin has no split, or hole into the cavity of the pumpkin.
Any pumpkin not up to GPC specifications will still be weighed on the day, but when submitted to the GPC will be classed as an exhibit pumpkin.
Your racer must be no wider than 35cm (350mm) including its wheels to fit down the track.
#1. Your pumpkin racer must be made with only one pumpkin (store bought is fine)
#2. Two independent axles must be placed through the pumpkin
#3. You may not attach your pumpkin onto a pre-fabricated chassis of any kind (skateboard, stroller, Tonka truck, etc.
#4. No pushing or “helping” your pumpkin down the track, let gravity do its thing
